"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,

I am highly sorry to contact you through this channel without your prior
consent. I am General Zakari Nandja, Chief of Army Staff of Federal Republic
Du Togo,West-Africa. On 5th February 2005 our leader, President Gnassingbe
Eyadema ,who has been in power for 38years died on heart attacked. Then
on Sunday 6th 2005 Togo's parliament approved his son Mr.Faure Gnassingbe
Eyadema as his successor, paving the way for him to rule unchallenged until
2008. See the website for details: http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/em/fr/-/1/hi/world/africa/4241743.stm

I contacted you personally over this transaction which requires absolute
honesty and confidential because of the present reaction of the opposition
group ,Organisation of African Unity and International organization against
the parliament action . I solicited for your utmost assistance towards this
project. However, by virtue of my position in this country as a Chief of
Army Staff, the late president while alive used my position/name to deposited
total sum of US$11M with one Security Company (UNITED TRUST SECURITE )in
Accra-Ghana and declared it as family treasures of Gold Jewelleries belonging
to a foreign business partner and handled me over all the documents covering
the deposit for safe-keeping. He generated this fund from CimTogo (Cement
Industries in Togo) and Togolaise National Petroleum.

Therefore I am using this opportunity to seek for your assistance to stand
as my Foreign Business partner to clear this fund from the Security Company
in Ghana and move it to your country hence I am still in power. After that
I will send my son over to you for our investment. I guarantee your total
safety over this transaction. Moreover, for this business to be concluded
immediately, all I required from you, is to forward an application and deposit
certificate of this box which I have with me to the security company in
Accra-Ghana as the beneficiary of the box / foreign business partner in
request for the release of the box to you as wished. You should not be afraid,
the deposit was made with my name so I have legal right to present you to
the security Company as my foreign business partner/ beneficiary of the
consignment for immediate release .

I have agreed within myself to offer you 30% of the total sum, while 10%
stands to cover any expenses, while I give you full power to manage the
remaining 60% in any business in your country with my son till I retire
from Army services. I need your urgent response on this letter. If possible
call me on the receipt of this confidential letter for the step necessary
for proceedings. Please maintain absolute confidential and respect to this
letter .

Yours Faithfully, General Zakari Nandja.
