"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: INVESTMENT CONTACTS.

Sir,

Certainly yes, this proposal may come to you as a surprise due to the fact
that we've not met before.

I am Johnson Kama, the first son of Chief Thomas Kama who was untill his
death the Chairman of the Minning Corporation of my country Sierra Leone.
Before his death, my father revealed to me about some boxes containing $38
million USA Dollars he deposited with a security company in Accra the capital
city of Ghana.My father did not disclose the contents of the boxes to the
security company to avoid eye brows being raised.

I am in search of an agent to assist us in the transfer of (USD$38 million)
and subsequent investment in your country.

You will be required to:

(1) Assist in the transfer of the said sum
(2) Advise on lucrative areas for investment.

Right now, I have concluded all the modalities with the Security company
to transfer the Funds to whom I will present as my father's foreign partner.

Presently, I and my mother are living in Accra, Ghana because of the civil
war in my country and will like to buy a living house in your country to
settle down.
If you are able to assist us in this regard,you shall be given 20% of the
total sum.
