"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

had shares/stocks in the company aswell as unclaimed dividened valued at
about US$5.8 Million which was deposited at his bank, the Overseasbank,
which remained unclaimed and the bank want to declare this funds
unserviceable and consficate it if a beneficiary or next of kin to the money
is not produced within the next 14 day, that is why i am contacting you to
act as the beneficiary to the funds, the deceased and his family, his wife and

As an accountant that represent the West Africa sub-region for the
Hambleside Group were my deceased Boss was the Managing Director and as his
former personal assistant before his death, also having been monitoring
financial transaction both in the Overseasbank for over a decade now and due
to the nature of my job ,I saw that Millions of funds, mostly foreign
expatriate funds are tied down in Africa and Asia, such funds are either
consficated like the situation in Zimbabwe or the funds are not allowed to
be repatrated by the individual or their families either dead or alive such
as the case of my deceased boss,so you have to act fast to claim this funds
from the bank before it is declared unserviceable.

All i want you to do now is for you to provide an account,by standing
as the beneficiary to the fund of the deceased person,so the sum or
money value of his shares can be paid into your account, since this has
been lying unclaimed for more than a year now,and we have been able to
convinced the bank to repatriate this funds back to the native country
of the depositor, the account provided would be used to receive the
unclaimed funds so that you can have the funds back as his
beneficiary/next of kin.all necessary documentation would be provided for
the claim to be made.

Finally, Send me your full contact address aswell as your telephone/fax
number as this transaction would required great trust and
confidentiality on your side, and we can proceed with the claim
immediately so that within the next 10 working days we can fully secure
this funds in your designated bank account.
Thank you and awaiting your positive response asap.

Yours Truly,
Mr.Joe Mensah
