"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

l am Dr.Farouk Abacha,one of the sons of the late Nigerian head of state;
general Sani Abacha, l got your contact through a family friend of ours when
l was searching for a foreigner that can help me invest my family's fund
abroad since the government of my country has insisted in probing my family's
financial resources since the death of my father, and has also seized all

Recently the government had also frozen all the known family's bank accounts
abroad with the assistance of the British government. Indeed to date they
have traced and confiscated about Three Billion USD from my family. We are
however lucky that we were able to move out the sum of Forty- Five million

in a security finance company, which has its headquarters in Accra Ghana. To
be exact we intend to use this money for investment purposes so as to enable
the family start life all Over again. This decision was taken between my
mother and myself .
We want to employ you to claim the said $45million USD on our behalf. If
this proposal is accepted to you, we will reward you for your assistance
with 25% of the total sum after getting the money out of the security company
vault to your country
In addition you are going to keep the family's own part of the funds and
assist us in investing (with my approval on a project) as a front for us
until the situation becomes more favourable for us to visit your country
and discuss the way forward .
Please kindly state your early response immediately you receive this message
through the email: barrparker2@look.com for more details on the logistics
and modalities. This is hoping to hear from you ASAP
