"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Letter Of Assistance

How are you and your family? hope well. thats fine. pardon me, i know you
don’t know me, but this is a good chance for us to know each other. i am
seeking your assistance in a transaction that involves our families.

Am a widow with kids and my younger brother david. we are from Angola, from
a kingdom called Luanda. i lost my husband there, which is one reason i have
contacted you. we could no longer stay in angola due to some reasons beyond
our control. my husband a traditional ruler, by name late Prince jeremiah
Dias, died as a result of the misunderstanding he had with the other prince
in council about the whereabout of some funds derived from the sales of gold
and precious stones from our kingdon. The land was shared amongst them and
that of my husband was more than their’s because he is the ruler, they
wanted to share his own portion amongst themselves. this incident brought
about the death of my husband.

We had to leave, it was no longer safe, just for the future of my children,
we had to leave for mauritius to escape the pressure and knowing fully well,
how hard it was going to be for us to leave in another world. Mauritius is
an island in the indian ocean from where we have been trying to contact you
via the internet and its not been easy. but i have hope that we would get
connected to you someday. from here we have also managed to call our friends
and sympathizers back in Angola. With the help of my brother David we
managed to get some money to start our lives afresh, but thank God for the
foresight of my husband. he had a total of twenty - five point five million
dollars usd ($25.5m) stocked in a security company.

my husband had to lodge the funds into a security outfit here in mauritius,
which is our present location, but he did not put it there in my own name
but tagged it "Family Treasure" leaving an instruction that a foreigner
would come to collect it and that the person would be identified by his wife
AnA, hence we are making this arrangement to contact you for help, so you
can help us in getting this "funds" overseas so we could start a new life.
please we are innocent people we need a change of environment because we
have seen the worst here and for the children’s sake most especially, i feel
they need to relocate.

Imagin, what my kids could be in future if they could just reach for that
helping hand which you could offer. the banking system in Mauritius has not
joined the international banking system, where we can transfer this funds to
our desired designated accounts overseas. we need someone who we could trust
like you on the international level, since we haven’t had the chance to own
foreign accounts. we will pay for your services, we will give you 35%, this
i believe would show enough appreciation for what you would be doing for us
and also for the future sake.

I will be happy if you could serve as our guardian. we are living like
refugees here in mauritius, because its not our home, we pray we can work
this out as quickly as possible, so we can eventually have peace. please its
no longer safe here anymore for me, i don’t even know what the future holds
for my kids, information reaching me has it that, Prince’s other wife has
been arrested and detained by our enemies, so i am hiding in a secret place.
my kids have stopped school for months now.

Please try to forward me a phone number where i can reach you so i can give
you more details on the exact role which is required of you for the
successful conclusion of this transaction.

Meanwhile you can forward the following informations at once for the
procesings of this transaction.

1.Your Full Name.

2.Your Full Address.

3.Your Age and Occupation.

4.Your direct phone number (Mobile).

5.A form of your identity e.g a copy of your passport or your driver
licence.

I look forward to your earliest response, please i need your help and i
believe with your help my life and that of my family will be safe and worth
living again.

Thank you and God bless you as you stretch out your hand of help.

Princess Ana Dias T.
