"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

FROM: MR VICTOR MARTINS
Compliments of the Day. I am Mr Victor Martins, A
commercial farmer from Liberia,
a war torn country in the west of Africa.i know that
this letter will be a suprise to you
as we have neither met in person nor knwon each other
before.
I Happened To leave my country due to the social
unrest
and political instability in my country.
I was shot on my legs during the recent civil war
crises in my country,
Right now my legs has been cut off from my knees down
due to the gunshot,
as a very close friend to the embattled former
president of my country
[ Mr Charles Taylor] i was privilaged to Travel on
exile to with him.
Right now i am living in the same island
with him and i have lost most of my Agricultural
assest due to
the current change in government in Liberia.
Dear, there is a huge amount of money that I had
deposited in
a safe house in Ghana for safety.
The total Sum is $17 million, the money is part of my
life savings and what i inherited from my
late father, from whom i took over the family
business. I would like to have your assistance in
relocating and
investing the money into any lucrative business you
deem profitable. I am 59 years of age and my only
daughter
is still too young, hence we need your
cooperation to secure and invest this funds, which is
as it
stands now, the only hope for my daughter's future
and survival as I have
already lost my agricultural investments, coupled with
me beign disabeled
and the situation of insecurity. Life is no more the
same
with me after all the lot I have gone through.
All my hope now rests on you, and I sincerely believe
you will not disappoint me, i am willing to let you
have
20% of the total sum as commision for your assistance
and the investment will also be directed by you.
I am expecting your immediate reply, so that I will
forward
to you the contact of the security firm in Ghana. I
will equally
give you a letter of Authority, giving you the right
to transfer the money to a different account for
