"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: HOW IS IT.

Dear Friend,

How are you, Abubakar Sadiq is
my name. Accountant to the Late
Mrs. Stella Obasanjo, the wife of
the Nigerian President, Olusegun
Obasanjo. Mrs. Stella Obasanjo just
died on the early hours of Sunday
23rd October 2005 in a hospital in
Spain where she went for a surgical
operation.

Before the death of Mrs. Stella
Obasanjo, she deposited the sum of
Twenty Seven Million United States
Dollars in a security company in the
Netherlands. The Security Company
does not know of the content of the
trunk boxes in their vault, I happened
to know of the content of the boxes
because I arranged the cash and
secured it in the trunks for onward
diplomatic delivery, as her trusted
accountant, I have handled a lot of
her sensitive financial transactions.

The documents covering the funds
are in my possession and I have
remained in Europe since her
demise in search of a trust worthy
person who is ready to complete
the transaction with me soonest.
I urgently seek your assistance to
move the funds out because her
family and the president do not
know of the funds. We will agree
on your percentage as we progress
along. Kindly respond back with
your full contact information?s or
call me on +.316-19211060.
