"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: In Good Faith I Contact You

Dear Sir/Ma,

In Good Faith I Contact You.

I am Barrister Muazid Azzid a Solicitor & Advocate at Law. I am the
personal Attorney to Mr Sami Hussein a national of your country, who worked
with Shell Development Company in Nigeria. On the 23rd of Ocptober 2005, my
client was involved in a plane crash, involving (Bellview Airline 210).

I have made several unsuccessful enquiries at your Embassy/Home office in
Nigeria to locate any of my late clint's relatives, given the fact that he
died leaving the sum of US$1.2m (One Point Tow million U. S. dollars) in a
local bank here in Nigeria. This I refused to reveal to the Embassy,
otheerwise, impostors might come up to claim his blood relationship. I am
contacting you to assist in repartrating my late client's money and property
as his next-of-kin.As his attorney I have all necessary document in place to
make you the Administrator of his assest, just today the airline management
annouced that all victims will be compensated with the sum of $100,000, So I
need your help in claiming all this money.

I met Mr. Hussein two years ago when I was comingt back from London, I
introduced my self to him and we started working from there on.

The search for someone to appear as this much needed Next-of-Kin is
necessitated by the fact that the bank has issued me an order through a
Lagos High Court to provide my Client's Next-of-Kin or have his bank account
declared UNSERVICEABLE, DOMANT and subsequently confiscated within the next
7 banking days. If you are interested in this proposal, you shall receive
the aforementioned amount of US$1.2m in your bank account. You stand to gain
35% of the total amount as your commission, 15% shall be allocated to tax
and general expenses both at your end and mine. 50% is mine, you shall
retransfer it to an account I will furnish you with at the successful end of
the transaction.

If you know that from your heart of heart that you are interested, I urge
you to send me the following.
