"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: HELLO FRIEND!

Hello friend,

Your Partnership Assistance Is Needed.

My name is Engr.Frank Ibeh, the current chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation{NNPC}.I have the mandate of two other colleagues of mine to seek your assistance in a business deal that exists presently within my department, which needs urgent attention.

As a matter of urgency,we have the total sum of Eighteen Million United States Dollars ready for shipment to any good foreign contractor which we have intended to use in a private investment abroad. This amount arose from our annual accounting as over-estimated contract sums on some past foreign contract jobs awarded to foreign contractors within 2004 and 2005 fiscal year. However, we concluded this business with a foreign contractor in the name of Mr.Ronald Toms, but getting ready for the shipment of this money in cash as diplomatic cargo to him early last month,we were shocked to hear of his death through a car accident, hence,we have no other option than to look for another person to take his place, which is why I am writing you this important message. We want to present your names to the courier company that is presently taking custody of the money here so that the shipment will be done in your name/favour,on our behalf. We shall come over to your country to take our share
as soon as this business is over.It will take roughly a week if you are willing to assist us in this regard.

We have decided that should you assist us conclude this deal, you will be entitled to a 30% of the total money as your interest on concluion, while you bank the rest safely for us in your account till we retire by Augus this year and come over to meet with you in your country for our share. This is 100% risk-free and legal, but it demands urgent attention and your total confidentilaity.

We shall be expecting your quick response, and sincere cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Engr.Frank Ibeh{Chairman}.
