Dear Friend,
This is my second email to you and I hope you will find time to respond. However, I believe everyone will die someday so you should not feel sorry for me as you read this mail. My name is Mr. Frans Datta. In 2004, doctors diagnose me with prostrate cancer, which by then it was already in its advance stage. This is the manifestation of my laxity in carrying for my health. It has defied all forms of medication and the doctors say I have just some few months to live.
I have not particularly lived my life well, as I never really cared for anyone else not even myself but my business. Though I use to be very rich, I was never generous with my wealth. I was always hostile to the poor and focused mainly on my business, as that was the only thing then that gives me joy. I am now regretting all this as I have found out that there is more to life than just wanting to make all the money in the world.
The most devastating aspect of the whole thing is losing my only brother, Mr. Umbu Datta to the Tsunami, while holidaying in Phuket, Thailand on the 26th of December 2004. Now that I know my time is up and there is nobody left for me to trust my wealth with, I have decided to invest my remaining wealth for generations after me.
I cannot do anything now that my health is deteriorating, i cannot even talk because of the side effect of the medicine and the cancer. I once gave authorization for a friend to close one of my bank accounts and distribute the proceeds amongst some charity organization in Rwanda; I later found that he kept the money to himself. This has made me loose all hope in people.
I have some funds (US$6,300,010), which i deposited with a Trust Company in Europe before I took ill. I want you to take control of these funds and invest it in any business of your choice. I have decided against outright distribution because I want something that will be continuous for many years to come. This is the reason why I want these funds invested and some percentage of the annual profit go to charity. After I am gone, you are to distribute the profit in the following manner.
I want to believe you are a very lucky person for having this opportunity to serve humanity. My proposal is to for you to keep 40% of the annual profit for your service and the balance of 60% for Charity Organizations, Motherless Babies Homes and Animal Right Organizations in Europe.
This is the only way to redeemed myself and has my name remembered annually. I have against doctors’ advice, decided to stop all forms of medication because death is inevitable. I am writing this from my laptop computer in my house in a village in Indonesia where I have a customize hospital bed on which I now lay waiting for my time to come. I pray that God use you to support and assist in achieving my last wish.
