"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

THE PAYMASTER - GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION.

ATTENTION: VICTIMNAME,

SUBJECT: IMMEDIATE TRANSFER OF YOUR CONTRACT FUND / GUIDELINE.
By this memo, I wish to reiterate the need for all categories of contractors to abide by the Government rules and position on expiration of mandated of an unclaimed payment. Having knowing about your pending payment with the Government of Nigeria, your file was submitted to this office in order to effect your payment, we found out that it was tampered by fraudsters who uses the name of Government offices in Nigeria to extort money from you, before it was reported to my desk, which the rules and regulations of paying foreign contractors proves prohibited in this present government. Having fully connected to the Government of the day, I presumed people contact you regularly and you will always be contacted even while working with this office, but we assured you of a peaceful and smooth payment transfer with your bank as soon as you adhere strictly to our directives.

However, this honourable office has been empowered/ authorized to effect all genuine foreign payment in this quarter payment of the year by the Federal Executive Council of Nigeria (FECN), the highest economic decision making body in Nigeria in conjunction with the Executive Office of the Presidency. This power was conferred on us due to the fact that the contractors do confirm their funds within 48 hours of transfer without any further delay, this office has also been authorized in order to wipe all the emotional pains the contractors must have encountered during their past dealings with some unscrupulous and criminal minded people that claimed to be the government officials in regards to the release of their fund. Finally, we wish to guide you properly, so that you will receive your payment without encountering any bad experience. Be informed that an instruction has passed to the Nigeria Police Force and Nigeria State Security Services to investigate those hoodlums and
trap them down with immediate effect.

So therefore, you are advised to reconfirm your banking details and your contract particulars so as to enable us crosscheck carefully with the one we have before the effect of your payment takes place. To enhance a smooth fund transfer with your payment, you are advised to desist from any call or fax you receive from any other office before it is too late, and the fax messages you have received should be sent to this office for proper investigation by the Nigeria Police Force. Call me as soon as you receive this message, for more clarification/ directives on how you are going to receive your payment in this quarter payment of the year, as your name had already appeared in our 2006 payment schedule notice board.

Best Regards,
Dr. Michael kalu
THE PAYMASTER - GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION
