"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I NEED YOUR UNRESERVED ASSISTANCE

Sir,
Sorry for the embarrassment this letter may have caused you since we have not met nor had any previous dealing or whatever.
The fact remains that I m truly happy and also satisfied with your status. My name is joseph Barry, a Sudan national residing at present in Abidjan Cote D'Ivore, due to the war in my country.
I got some consignment with a security company in London but I cannot travel to London now as a result of my living here in the Cote D'Ivore.Am seeking asylum and also avoiding my father's enemies whom stand as a threat to me, so I don't want any endanger which may worsen my situation.
The content of the consignment is money but was deposited as a PERSONAL EFFECTS to a foreign partner, the tune is Ten million, and three hundred thousand US Dollars.(US$10,300,000.00) .
As a matter of fact, my father deposited this fund for safe keeping, after the deposit,he called me and my mother and explain to us about it , he told me and my mother that this money has nothing at all to do with drugs or does it have anything to do with the government of Sudan, my late father use to have a relationship with the former minister of Trade & Commerce who was killed during the war.
My Father told me,the money is from a Diamond trade which my he was covering up for his friend which Is not too legal to take to a bank in Sudan hence he took the money to a security company in London, for a safe keep.
Firstly, I contacted the security company in London to confirm the
consignment, which I was notified the existence .As you well known, the recent up surge of the war that engulf my country did not allow me to make a proper arrangement for the collection of the consignment from the security company before leaving my country. On
arrival in Cote D'Ivore I thought I could settle down and make arrangement on how to move the
consignment to my base here in Cote D'Ivore but after proper studying of Cote D'Ivore banking /monetary policy,I realize that it will be certainly not possible since I do not have any good business or investment that could count for the money, hence I decided to seek for your humble assistance.

Meanwhile I have decided to offer you 15% of the total money and also
entrust my money under your good care and control pending when am through with my asylum issues. I beg you to keep the content of this letter to yourself, to avoid any unforeseen problem since I have not related this issue to anyone except perhaps you. Please feel free to confirm the content of this letter through my
mail box barrjoe39@yahoo.co.uk While replying, please furnish me with your private telephone / fax numbers respectively for easy Communication.
Looking forward to your urgent and positive reply soonest and also hoping for good relationship between us in the nearest future.
Remain Bless.

Yoursfaithfully

joseph Barry.
