"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: CONTRACT PAYMENT.

Dear Amarjit Singh,

I am directed by my director Mr. Paul Saka of the DEBT MANAGEMENT BOARD (DMB) FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA to contact you on the best way to sort out your contract claim payment.
I know this email is coming to you after a prolonged period of waiting without any information from me regarding the transfer of our funds as earlier scheduled.
Take notice, that due to the beurocratic procedures involved in foreign remittance of funds here in Nigeria which has led to the payment of some statutory dues in the past without transfer be effected by the payment establishment as promised I decided to take it upon myself to carry out a comprehensive investigation to know the actual cause of the problem and know how the drawback can be determined once and for all.
On the strength of the above, I discovered the real dilemma with our payment move in the office of the minister of state for finance and the office of the director general debt management office, which is withholding tax evasion.

Based on their outstanding assessment, we are required to pay the sum of USD$ 1.2M (One million two hundred thousand united states dollars) only which is the
official appraisal for the volume and nature of our transaction and foreign exchange application for transfer.
Having informed you of the said in sequence, I know we are faced with a big problem in addressing the above sum, which will enable the central bank effect the
transfer of our approved disbursement since neither you nor myself will be able to come up with this fee at this point in time.

In line with this stalemate confronting us, I have been in the process of looking for a trustworthy entrepreneur here in Nigeria and the Diaspora to assist us in addressing the payment on trust so that our resources could be transferred to your designated
account and immediately you receive the funds he will be reimbursed back. At this juncture I am happy to inform you that I have found one (an oil magnate) who
has reviewed the payment papers and is willing to assist us in accomplishing this goal but with a condition, which I know you, will be able to take care of without hesitation.

Precisely, the investor is requesting us to raise a bank guarantee for the said value of fees to secure his investment of payment, this I know you will be able to take care of in the shortest possible time.

Kindly review this information and get back to me ASAP via email or my direct telephone number 234-1- 7755409 as our time for conclusion of this transaction is QUICKLY passing us by!!!!!!! I am cocksure this validated bank guarantee would be the best solution, so that this fee can be paid timely and our transfer effected accordingly.

Yours truly.

Prof. Wali Ibrahim
