"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Thanks For Your Response

Dear VICTIMNAME VICTIMNAME,
Thank you for your response to my email. My partners and I have discussed your response with the apparent belief that you need to understand the necessity for strict privacy in a transaction of this magnitude and its nature being a very confidential business transaction.

Based on your position, we make bold to intimate you with the details of our perfected modalities for the realization of this pending project. The project is ready for execution and it is 100% LEGAL, risk-free and hitch-free provided you follow our instruction as the originators of the business. The necessity to follow our instructions can not be undermined as we are committed to not just the successful transfer of the funds per se but 100% success that guarantees our enjoyment of the proceeds with absolute peace of mind after the successful transfer. In fact, the essence of the enjoyment of the proceeds with absolute peace of mind is the sole yardstick with which we intend to conduct the affairs of this project.
Therefore, we need your assurance and reassurance of total partnership backed up with a positive disposition to promptness in adherence to our instructions. We hereby reassure you that if you follow our instructions religiously, promptly, and accordingly, neither your interest nor that of your company will be jeopardized on account of this project. We recognize the magnitude of trust and confidence reposed on us by you availing us the use of your information for this deal which will be of mutual benefit to us all. We also recognize the duty which this gesture by you has reposed on us. We will not let you down. You can count on us.
We have come across this opportunity and we are seizing it as we have unflinching confidence in being able to achieve 100% success in this project or we would not have engaged ourselves in it if we had even one atom of doubt in this regard. The only thing capable of marring this confidence is when there is a lapse in the maintenance of confidentiality. Hence we are reiterating its importance. We count very much on you in this regard.
Our perfected modality for the transfer of the funds are to be made in the capacity of a contract payment to your company for a contract that would be officially perceived to have been executed by your company for the Namibia Mining Department. To this effect, we are asking you to send us your Full Names, Address, Telephone and Fax number. With this, we will officially register a company in your name and make formal application for the funds to be released to you as a contract payment. With the presentation of the claim on your official letterhead, the official position would be that your company executed a contract with the invoice number: IWNC/PED/2039-X93 for the Namibia Mining Department for which it is entitled to a payment of US$35,500,000.00(Thirty five Million five hundred United States Dollars), the contract value.
Immediately we receive the information from you (Name, Address, Telephone and Fax Number) and the contract claim application raised in your name, my partners at the Contract Review Committee (CRC) would officially validate the claim as your lawful contractual entitlement and thereafter forward the file to the task force on Contract Payment release for their approval and they would in turn forward the file to the Ministry of Finance for the issuance of the Exchange Control Approval Order Number. The entire process of the funds release and the transfer would take not more than seven working days and would be officialised and documented to ensure total legitimacy as with all contract transfers by the Bank of Namibia.
You would agree with us that the above procedure would cater for all forms of legitimacy on your side in respect of the funds arrival in your account. More over, a vetting approval would be issued from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation stating that the funds being transferred to your account from the Bank of Namibia is a payment for a job done by your company for the Namibia Mining Department and does not in any way contradict the laws of our country or the United Nations.
Be informed that as customary procedure, the entire file of the funds transfer will be returned to my partners at the Contract Review Panel for safe keeping as sole custodians of all files relating to contracts done for our statutory corporations within seven days of the confirmation of the funds in your account. On return of the file concerning our project, they will destroy it making the funds untraceable to us. This falls within our modalities so that the funds can never be traced for our eternal peace of mind. As for your Private Bank, my Government will make payment to any bank account that you provide. We would like to inform you that our share of the funds will be used in the importation of agro-allied machinery as we cannot afford to bring back our share of the funds as cash money into our country. Of course, if you have a better business proposal, we will be very happy to take your advice.
We count very much on your cooperation to ensure total confidentiality at this stage. Please ensure to obtain a perfectly secure and confidential fax and telephone number as it is very important for this project.
Finally, we await your prompt response with the required information to enable us officially commence with the process of filing all applications in your name.
Once again, we thank you for your response to our call while looking forward to a swift reply from you and sincerely hope that we have assured you on this project.
We will further inform you of developments after the commencement of the project.

Kind Regards,
Mr. Williams Mmegi .
