"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Hello Robert Ised,

We agreed to ship the consignment to you with our own money, and it is due to the fact that Mrs Kimberly and her late husband has been good customers to us.We have tried enough for shipping the consignment to your country without collecting the money for shipment. You should know that it is not all our customers that have this previllege. So i must tell you that we cannot pay for this unexpected and conditional local charges that has come up eventually.

If you cannot pay the money,it means the diplomats will have to board the next available fligth back to London after the delivery of the other consignment in South Carolina, because our customer in South Carolina has agreed and paid his money today. So you will have to come to our office in London to claim the consignment, then you will be able to know the person you want to pay before paying any money. It is good the customs has released the consignment to the diplomats, just that the customs did not allow the consignment in until the money is paid.So it means the diplomat will have to return the consignment to London after delivering the other consignment in South carolina.

Best regards,
Stege Smith.
(DELIVERY DIRECTOR).

Like I said Western Union advises not to pay people you don't know. I don't know you or your diplomats. I feel it would be far more appropriate if you were to pay them.

We do not pay be Western Union because it is so open to be cheated by scammers.

Also you did not mention how much your costs were going to be with this additonal $4,800 as I mentioned beforehand

I must let you know that our diplomats have been delivering consignments to our customers for long as it is their business, but the problem they are facing rigth now is because Mrs Kimberly registered her consignment as an undisclosed content, that was why the consignment has not been allowed to gain entrance until this amount is paid. They are in some where in South Carolina called Isle of palm.So you should just send the money to them. You said western union has issued warning that you shouldn't send money to person you don't know, and i knew it,because there have been a lot of scam on the internet this day, that was why i sent a scanned copy of my international passport to you through email attachment for your perusal at the begining of this transaction.I have attached it again in this email.

If you can not get intouch with them on their phone, then you can contact their colleague thatin the US to deliver consignment to one of our customers on this phone number :6762028824.He will tell you about his colleague.Though he is through with his first assignment to deliver a consignment at Houston in Texas,he is now on his second assignment.Things has been easy for him because he doesn't have any consignment registered as an undisclosed content.

I can't type more than i have typed. You should send the money to them through a means that will be easy for the diplomat to get the money and settle with the customs. The mode of payment we know in normal western union money transfer and money gram.

Best regards,
Stege Smith.

So you want me to send them $4,800 which they don't have and didn't anticipate. Are they not used to tihs kind of thing if not only myself but another customer is being asked to dig them out of a hole? You think you're company would be prepared for such eventualities as this is your normal everyday business.

Well Western Union issues warnings not to send money to people you do not know and the method we normally use requires an email contact for the recipient to ensure they get the MTCN correctly. We would also need a more accurate location than "South Carolina" it covers a very big area!

I think therefore it may be better if you send them the money and as the cost was not anticipated by yourselves they are to add it to what we owe them when they get here. How much is that anyway? I can find no mention of the costs in our correspondence to date? If it comes to more than $20,000 I will have to make some arrangements with our bankers for the cash to be on hand, unless they will take a cheque?

I would point out that I have still had no success in contacting them. Do you know where they are staying, a hotel or motel name and town in South Carolina I can contact them through?

It is true that i stated in my email that you will have to pay the diplomats for the delivery of the consignment, but we never knew any other expenses will come up.I have to apologise for this, you have to send the money to them so they can get the consignment out of the airport.I have also met with the management of our security company, and they have agreed that you should deduct the money from the delivery charges of the diplomat and we will rectify the problem with the diplomat if they get back to London.

As per the diplomats coming to South carolina,it was due to their fligth schedule, they were to deliver another consignment to somebody in South Carolina. The owner of the other consignment as to pay the same amount tooWe apologise for all the inconviniences. You should send the money to James Gillard, and the destination is South carolina.I hope you will do it so they can get out of the airport.

The phone number is the only number I have! I will however keep trying their line when I have time.

Sir, you very clearly stated that I would only be required to pay the diplomats on arrival here. It is therefore your responsibility to fund their needs whilst in transit not mine!

I will pay them when they get here.

I still do not know why they went to Southern Carolina in the first place!

The phone number you just sent to me now,is the same phone number that the diplomat have with them.I want you to give me your direct mobile phone number, which the diplomats can reach you through. The diplomat can not come to your place without coming along with the consignment. The consignment is being held at the airport in South Carolina,so they need to talk to you for everything to be cleared.I don't know why you pretend not to understand what is going on.

And if you must know, the customs have seized the consignment at the airport, and the diplomats have to give them the sum of $4,800 that is the reason why the diplomats wants to talk to you.The money has to be sent to the diplomats in South carolina fast so they can get the consignment cleared and bring it to you in Alabama.

Best regards,
Stege Smith.

I need not to give you any international dialing code because i have told you that, the number is not an international phone number, dial it the way i sent it to you,it is a local number in the US,so dial it the way you dial other local calls. The best solution i will prefer if you can not get through to them on the phone is that, you should give me your private cell phone which they will be able to reach you through. You are making things difficult for everybody,i don't know why you have choosen to make things difficult.

I want to know if the phone rang when you called them or you were unable to get through to them, because i called them this morning with the same phone number and i was able to speak with them.So you should keep trying the phone number as it was sent to you.The diplomats are really complaining for not hearing from you yet.Make sure you get through to them on phone today, they will explain to you because they are in the better position to explain.
