"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Urgent and Confidential Assistance Needed.

My name is Sgt. Michael Dailey, an Australian soldier presently serving in the military of the 2nd Armoured Division of the Coalition force in Iraq.

In one of our military operations code names ”Operation Swarmer” I and my superior officer uncover a large catch of armoury and funds belonging to Saddam Hussein, the total is USD$39,000,000.00 (Thirty Nine Million United States Dollars) which we decided to share among our selves
Aside this too, some huge sum of money in various currencies was also discovered concealed in barrels with piles of weapons and ammunitions at a location near one of Saddam, s old palaces during the operation by the Coalition force, and it was agreed by all party present that the money be shared amongst us, this was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? No compensation can make up for the risks we have taken with our lives in this hell hole.

After sharing, our superior officer mandated each one of us to deposit our money for safe keeping with a Diplomatic Finance & Security company for onward movement to Europe

As at now I have lost two (2) of my dear comrade in arm. Namely: Sgt, Jackson Wakkuna and Pvt. Sitton Christ whom both has a shear in this money.
I have been mandated by the superior officer to get a good and trustworthy partner to receive these funds deposited with a Security Company. If you are interested I will send you the full details; I am contacting you with trust that you will assist us to claim these funds as soon as it is moved to Europe.
Basically since we are soldiers on important mission, our oath of office forbid us from keeping these funds, we, therefore seek an honest and trustworthy partner who will assist in collecting and investing same hence our decision to transfer the funds to you. You can keep it for us in your safe account or an offshore account or invest in a profitable venture for 2-5 years depending on our redeployment back home.
After the death of 2 of my colleague, only 3 of us, my self, my superior officer and you will share the above mentioned sum. This means that you will take 30%, I will take 30%, and my superior will take 30%. While 10% will be kept aside for expenses. This business is confidential, and it should not be discussed with anyone. This project is urgent as we cannot tell when we will be leaving Iraq on transfer to Afghanistan
Now that you have known everything, Can we trust you? When you receive this letter, kindly reply to this email address – michealdailey_usarmy@yahoo.com
signifying your interest including your most confidential telephone/fax
numbers for quick communication also your contact details. This transaction is risk free
Thanks, as we eagerly awaits your urgent reply.

Respectfully submitted,

Sgt. Michael Dailey (Baghdad-Iraq)
