"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

My Dear Friend,

I am Mr Kim Doo Tae,A Korean National resident in London and the Chief
Auditor of Bank of China, London Office. I have a confidential suggestion
for you. One of our clients/personalfriend, Late Mr.Michael Forb
unfortunately lost his life on June 21st 2001 including his wife and his
only daughter as they were all murdered by Unknown gunmen and Late
Mr.Michael Forb is a National of your country and Investor here in London.

No other person knows about what i am about to tell you or anything
concerning it.Mr. Michael was a good friend of mine and philantropist who
has always helping the poor and needy and on one of our last meetings before
he died he had talked about plans to establish a foundation that he would
devout 50% of his immense wealth to benefit the less priveleged of our
society.I supported him and asked for him to have my home country Korea in
his plans and there were a lot of people in need of help over there.

It may interest you to know that after his death and since his next of kin
is his daughter who died with him, His bank account has no other beneficiary
and my investigation proves to me as well that he has no other relative in
his country of origin since he left there and migrated to London a long long
time ago.The amount involved is 6.5 million Pounds ,I am contacting you to
stand and act as the next of kin to Mr.Michael to claim this funds because
if no one comes forward to claim this funds in the next two weeks the bank
will confisicate the funds as unclaimed funds and now i have decided that i
should summon courage and work with you in trust and partnership to present
you to the bank as the next of kin to late Mr.Michael so that i can fulfil
his dream and utilize part of the funds for the estblishment of
his foundation as he wished. You will definately agree with me that this is
worth doing than allowing the funds go for nothing.

At the conclusion of this transaction succesfully and envisaged, you will
be given 40% of the total amount, while 60% will be for me and the
establishment of the foundation of my late friend, also any expenses which
you and me may incur during the process of this transaction will also be
reconciled afterwards before sharing.

Let me have your confidential Telephone, Fax and mobile Numbers.I want you
to feel free and ask question in any aspect you are not properly clear or
you do not understand very well.

Yours Truly,

Mr. kim Doo Tae
