"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir ,

I understand that through Internet is not the best way to link up with you Because of the confidentiality which the transaction demands. But, I guess my Letter would not embarrass you since I had no previous correspondent with you.

I am Dr.Markson B. Williams, a banker with POSTBANK. UK and Account Officer to Engr.James Hammer, a citizen of your country, who works with British Petroleum here in UK. On the 21st of February 2003, our late customer, his wife and their only daughter were involved in a car accident along Marrison High way. All occupants of the vehicle unfortunately lost there lives.

Since then, the bank have made several enquiries to your embassy here to locate any of our late customer extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to track a national of his, to locate any member of his family or country man hence I contacted you. I have contacted you to assist in repatriating his closing balance with the bank, valued US$10.5M Dollars which has been Tagged unclaimed because no relative of our late customer has come forward to make A statement of claim.

We have no knowledge of a next of kin. As you can picture what the Situation is like. With strong proof that the chairman and the board of directors will keep most of the money for discredited Military Trust in Middle East & Asia. This invariably is an attempt to infuse more Money Into Exportation of military equipment (arms and ammunition) for using in a Senseless war, hence my mission.

Our bank has issued a notice requesting a next of kin to show up or have our late customer’s account confiscated within the next twenty one official working days.Since I have been unsuccessful in locating the relatives for over 24 months now, I seek the consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since he is from your country, so that the proceeds of his account can be paid to you.I could also arrange the funds to be paid to you through our affiliate financial house in Canada.

Therefore, on receipt of your positive response, we shall then discuss the sharing ratio and modalities for transfer. I have all necessary information and legal documents needed to back the claim. All I require from you is your honest/desire cooperation to enable us sees this transaction through.

I guarantee that this will be executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. I would like you to get back to me for more details.

Markson B. Williams
