"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear friend,

I beg for your forgiveness. I don’t know how sad you will feel to read from me that I was able to conclude without you, the transaction you and I where working on to transfer some money into your personal bank account.

I had to conclude the transaction with some one else, a friend from London whom I am presently at moment residing with and working on a big business investment here in London. To be candid with you, I have not been having rest of mind, because of the way I suddenly kept you away in concluding the transaction then, not because of my own fault, but you where unnecessarily delaying the whole transaction and also been foolishly skeptical.

However as God fearing as I am, I think it is Godly that I compensate for all effort then, you with a check of 850 pounds, which I have already written on your name and left with my lawyer to send to you upon the receipt of your telephone number and full contact address where the check will be delivered to you.

You are therefore in view of these notification from me, requested urgently to contact barrister obi 0gechukwu on his email address stated as follow. Obi_0gechukwu@yahoo.com. His telephone number is 234-8023-5801-12.

Tell him you have my instruction to contact him for the release of your check with him for the past one week to you to your contact address.

Thank and bear with me as I wait to read promptly.

Mr Kevin Paul
