"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: LOOKING FOR AREA TO INVEST

Dear Sir,

Best compliments of the day. I write to you for investment co-operation in your country, Indonesia.

I am a retired Public Officer in Africa. I have some funds which I intend to invest into the growing economy of Indonesia and other Asian countries and I need a guide in the person of a knowledgeable Indonesian businessman. I have no contact in Indonesia at the moment and because of that I intend to send my son if you will, to meet you in Indonesia to discuss with you on possible areas of investment in your country.

If you can assist me in establishing investment in Indonesia, kindly reply urgently with details of your business profile.

Then I will send my son to meet and discuss the matter with you.

Expecting your response at your earliest convenience.

Your faithfully,
Ibrahim Koroma
