"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Subject: Call for help,

Dearest one, May the peace of gracious God be with you. I am Mrs.Ever Nasto, from Kuwait, married to late Mr. Desmond Ali Nasto, who worked with Kuwait Embassy in Cote d‘ivoire for more than twenty years before he died three years ago, after a brief illness that lasted for only one week. We married for Nineteen years and we have only one son (Johnson) who is only nineteen yrs old. Since after my husband death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home. My late husband deposited the sum of (US$9.7M) Nine million seven hundred thousand united States dollars in one of the good banks here in Cote d‘ivoire, this money was originally intended to be invested in a Cocoa industry in West Africa here before his untimely death. Recently, my Doctor discover my cancer problem while I have stroke for the past one year and four months, upon all this illness, my doctor told me that my chances of living is in the hands of God. Having known my condition I decided to look for a reliable foreign partner who will invest it in any profitable business for my son, In case I am no more. I took this decision because I did not want Johnson my son to suffer in the hands of my late husband‘s wicked relatives, also I don‘t want my husband‘s efforts to go in vain since he has an offspring. I am offering you 25% of the total sum if you render this help to me. My major problem is that the bank wants me to provide someone that will stand in as the beneficiary. Thanks and God bless you.Mrs. Ever Nasto.
