"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dr. Joe Williams.

Good Day,

Business Proposal: Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

I am the chairman committee for off-shore and on-shore contracts for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, in Nigeria (NNPC)

Through some discreet enquirers from my Chambers of Commerce, you and your organization were revealed as being astute in business, one has no doubt in your ability to handle a financial business of considerable amount which will form the bedrock of an extensive business partnership in due
course. In unfolding this proposal, I want to count on your status as a respected executive of your Company to believe that you will handle it with all maturity and confidentiality it deserves.

The business involves the remittance of US$11.5 Million (Eleven Million, Five Hundred Thousand U.S. Dollars only) to your bank account from our Central Bank. The money accrued through deliberate over-invoicing of old projects executed for the Government by some foreign firms. Some officials here
have worked out the scheme to benefit us along with any foreign partner who obliges us the materials and channel to push out the funds, our idea being to come over thereafter to share the funds with whoever assists us.

It may interest you to know that, last year a similar transaction was carried with one Mr. Patrice Miller, who changed his address and contact telephone numbers before we got to New York for our share of the money. We are still on the look out for Mr. Miller who is holding both his 20% of the
totals funds and our chunk of the money based on the initial agreement of sharing the funds after the transfer. We do not intend to let the Miller incidence disrupt our drive to raise enough funds for our individual political campaign in our country after our retirement from Government services.

We have fully now worked out the operational modalities to forestall any occurrence of any hitch. If you would assist/participate, please get in touch with me immediately by writing a reply mail to me.

In picking on you for this business, please note that a lot was taken into consideration as you will be required to guide us through a wise investment of our share of the funds in a viable venture(s) in your country or anywhere in Europe.

For your participation in realizing this transaction, 25% will be for you, 60% for us the officials, 15% for any expenses we may incur (both parties) during processing of the transfer to your nominated bank account.

I am awaiting your response most urgently and be rest assured that this transaction is 100% risk free, there is no risk involved on both sides. Thank you and God Bless.

Best Regards,
Dr. Joe Williams.
