"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU HEAR FROM ME

From Mahdi Mamadou
MOOSSOU PREMIER QUARTER
BP. 823 GRAND-BASSAM, COTE DIVOIRE.01-05-2008. Dear One, I became interested in disclosing everything about myself to you after i learnt about your country and being very conducive and your people are very good to go into relationship with. I'm very sorry if my letter will in any way inconvenience you, please i thank you for and God bless you. My name is Mahdi Mamadou jr and I am 17 years college dropout due to circumstances. I am son and only child of late Dr. and Mrs Mahdi Mamadou. My late father was a former director in the cocoa exporting and marketing board here in Abidjan, the economic capital of Cote d'Ivoire and owned Mankafi Farms limited before he was poisoned to death by people who i greatly suspect to be his business associates. When father died on the 16th October 2006, unfortunately my mother died of cancer 3 months after due to the trauma and emotional sufferings she passed through loosing my father. Before then, my mother has already informed me of the deposit which my late father made with a big bank here in Abidjan before he was poisoned. My late father genuinely earned this money from his areas of business. He deposited this fund and informed the bank to know that in case of emergency, as i am still tender that the money should be given to me when i am 25 years and above or i should present a foreigner who will stand as my guardian. Before the death of my mother on 9th June 2007 in a private hospital here in Abidjan, she secretly called me on her bedside and advised me to look for a person abroad that will assist me by fronting as my late father business agent on whose behalf he deposited the sum of $8,000,000.00 Million (Eight Million US Dollars). Now that I have verified the deposit with the bank, Please, I am seeking your assistance in the following ways. 1) To provide a bank account where this money would be transferred to. 2) To serve as the guardian of this fund since i am a girl of 19 years. 3) To make arrangement for me to come over to your country after the Money has been transferred. Moreover, I am willing to offer you 15% of the total sum as Compensation for your effort/input after the successful transfer of this fund to your nominated account overseas. please I ask you to also look for a valuable and lucrative business, so that both of us can invest wisely. By this mail please you are kindly requested to arrange on how this money will be transfer into your account so that the transfer will be faster because of the political situation here in Cote d’Ivoire . I'm sorry if this will in any way inconvenience you. I am waiting to hear from you as soon as possible. Thanks and God bless you and your family. Yours son, Mahdi Mamadou.+22503217355.
