"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Dear Beloved,

My name is Miss Emily Sanchez (18yrs). I am the only child of late Mr. & Mrs. Rick Edward Schmidt JR, may their soul rest in perfect peace. I am an America citizen born here in Abidjan Ivory coast because my late parents has been living and working here until their death in 2007. There were assassinated by the rebels due to the political crisis here in this country. My late father is from Illinois U.S A. I am an under graduate studying at Ashesi university college Ghana in neighboring country to Ivory Coast. Before the death of my parents, my father was a contractor and an engineer to Compagnie Ivoirienne D'Electricite (CIE) here in Abidjan Cote D’Ivoire. They were assassinated by the unknown persons (rebels) on their visit to the contract site in The of Buoake. The rebels claim that my father was a stranger in supporting the government during the war that divided the country into two parts. I was at school in Ghana a neighboring country when I heard about the tragic death of my parents.

Since then I have not been going to school and things has been difficult for me but recently a junior lawyer to my family lawyer just informed me that their principal lawyer is died and he gave me some document covering a deposit sum of Eighteen Million Seven Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Four Hundred And Thirty Dollars ($18,756.430.00) which my late father deposited in a in a suspense account in a bank here since 2005. According to him he said this money was meant to establish my late father’s foreign business in America and Europe after his retirement. but unfortunately he never informed me before his death and this wicked family lawyer has refused to inform me because he was in positing of those documents waiting for the expiration of the fund deposit date in five years so that he can claim the money with some of the bank staffs but now god has heard my prayers as he is now dead. This humble lawyer has just told me everything about my late father’s wish. Now I am looking for a trust worthy foreign partner/guardian over sea to confide the release of this money into his/her account and relocate to establish the money on a lucrative business and live my life in quiet as my late father wished. This is why am contacting you, I need your assistance to transfer this money to your country and invest the money on any on any profitable business ventures of your choice.

Note: please if you can assist me inform me as soon as possible so that I will introduce you as my foreign partner/guardian within the next three days, if not I will start looking for someone else.

Await your soonest response.
Respectfully yours,
Emily Sanchez.
