"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam
The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.
Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.
Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:
- This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

I got your contact information from your country's Chamber of Commerce and Industry directory. I am contacting you in relation to establishing a business relationship. I have a Client whose identity is concealed until we both have a mutual understanding of you accepting to be in partnership with my Client, this is as a result of the political and social status of my Client. My Client is very much interested in investing in your country or any profitable business venture that you suggest. My Client urgently seeks a honest and genuine individual (businessman) with whom she can establish a good profitable business relationship with.
Despite the fact that I only know little about you, I am contacting you because I believe and have faith that you can handle this and you will make a good business partner to my Client. My Client already have some laid down investment plan but we would welcome some more investment ideas from you if any. My client is capable of providing the initial capital for any investment plan you will both agree on. However, if you are not interested or you find yourself not capable enough to handle this kindly refer someone to me who you deem fit enough.
