"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am Mr. Bill Thorburn the Chief Executive of Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited with her head office situated in Queensland Australia and also in the Irish Republic. The Purpose of writing you this letter is to inform you that after a concrete review of our beneficiary list since the past 3 years, our financial auditors discoverred that your email address with Ref Number GCUK/2031/8162/05 was listed in our central computer among unpaid lottery beneficiaries till date and it is their duty to report such notice to the Executive Board.

Furthermore, be informed that your email appeared among the lucky beneficiaries who is to receive the sum of One Million Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Britain Pounds (1,750,000.00 GBP) won by you in the January 2009 edition of the Golden Casket Non Ticket Application Lottery in which your email attached to Reference Number GCUK/2031/8162/05 and Batch Number R4/A312-53 was selected anonymously and emerged as one of the lucky Twenty selected email addresses. I have sent several emails to you but got no response from you.

However, I received an application for claim from one Mr. Kurt Morris with a different email address who claimed he is your next of kin, claiming that you are dead and by right as your next of kin he is entitled to the above mentioned amount. He also submitted his bank account particulars where he wants the said fund transferred to.

Could you please confirm if the email address I used in sending you this message, which I saw in our records is still valid because Mr. Kurt Morris claimed that your email address is no longer valid.

If I don't hear from you after 72 hours from the date I sent you this message, I will consider my investigation a waste of time and conclude that Mr. Morris claim is right and we shall have no other option than to act accordingly to his instruction because by right, if a winners funds is unclaimd within a period of 3 years, anybody with the Ref and Batch No claiming to be the Next of Kin of the winner can have full right over the funds so please treat this as highly important and get back to me urgently by sending a copy of your reply to ( verificationdpt08@gmail.com )
