"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PLEASE MY BROTHER READ...

SALLAM Friend,

I write you with great respect and hope that you will reply to my proposal. My name is Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, I am the personal adviser and a close family friend of the late Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua who died on the 5th of May 2010.

Before the late president died, he was gravely ill since he left the country for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia on 23rd November 2009. This lead to his inability to execute his official duties and conclude most of the things he left in the office.

During his sick days, the wife Turia Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua had access to some confidential contract documents which secured them very well. The contract document stated that there was an over invoiced Contract sum of $108 million united stated dollars. The original contract was the construction of Electric Power Plants in Kastina and Kano state, the contract was awarded to C & C Construction Co. Limited the construction arm of the Chagoury Group of Companies. The total contract was valued at $1.8 billion United States Dollars and the Chagoury Group of Companies have been paid in full.

Because the Vice President to the late President Mr. Goodluck Jonathan is a Christian and has taken over powder. He refused to concede to the former agreement that power should remain with the Northern region which is the Muslim part of the country and hence make things difficult for the late Presidents family.

We seek your assistance to help us secure the $108 million as a sub contractor to C&C Contraction Company to enable us transfer the money to your bank account as the beneficiary.

We are offering 15% of the total amount for your assistance. There is urgent need for us to have this money ready as we wish to use it for the next Presidential election to make sure that we have our Muslim brother back to office. We need you as a brother to assist us in this endeavor. Allah will protect and be with you.

Please note that this information is very very confidential and we will appreciate if you will keep it confidential for us.

We hope you will be able to help as we requested, looking forward to your immediate response.

Yours faithfully,

Alhaji Dahiru Mangal
