"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Sir/Madam,from Libya.........plea to my daughters guardian )

Assalamu Alaikum,

May you have some sympathy to assist me in my plight.I am a Libyan
soldier who is under a constitutional oath to fight on the side of
Muammar Muhammad Al-Gaddafi.

As you may be aware, the World Court in Hague has issued a Warrant of
Arrest against the Libyan Leader Muammar Gaddafi and others in view of
the crises going on in Libya. It is evident, that Gaddafi's soldiers of
which I am one are considered war criminals and would be facing
serious charges if caught.

Consequently,I have a critical health condition  following a gunshot
injuries and presently undergoing some treatments in a hideout.

I make a haste to request for your help as to be my only daughter's
Guardian. My Daughter, 15 yrs,is currently in the UK , under an Islamic
Child Care Home since 6 months ago.

This has no legal implication as my daughter will remain in the UK
while you will be visiting her often and she can spend her holidays
with you at her will.

I know this will place some inconveniences at your hand, however,I
shall endeavor to provide you with sufficient fund for this
purpose.I hope you will be able to assist me even though I do not know
you in person.

Note: Please write to me here ... omar-shariff1@hotmail.com

Sincerely,

Capt.Omar Sharif
