"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

With respect i am writing you this mail for an urgent help to me and my only son

I am Mrs Florence Imran from Sierra Leon. I am a widow being that I lost my husband a couple of Years. My husband was a serving director of the Cocoa exporting board in cote d ivoire until his death .
He was assassinated by the rebels during the political uprising, Before his death he deposited some money in one Bank organization here in of cote d ivoire the amount is $9million usd.
According to my late husband, the money is meant for unward transfer for the importation of cocoa processing machine. I have plans to do investment this fund in your country, like real estate and industrial production.or any other business that can be profitable for us.

This is my reason for writing to you. Please if you are willing to assist me and my only son to retrieve this fund out of the bank and stand as our foreign partners, indicate your interest in replying soonest.also i will also like if you can come down here in person so that you can go to the finance to withness every thing by your self,then if not possible for you to come down here we can still also process toward transfering of the fund in your country account without much delay
