"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: We want to buy this raw material in your Country

Dear
Sir / Madam,

We
are a Consulting / brokering firm based in London, United Kingdom and we are
presently representing an International Wrist watch and Jewelleries
manufacturing Company that is interested in one of the major raw materials (Quartz
Crystalline) used for their products and this raw material is
found in your Country.

But
due to my disability, old age and medical advice not to travel overseas, I
would like to appoint you as our link man to assist in the transaction between
our client and the supplier of this raw material in your Country. We will like
to assure you that this will not affect your day to day business activities or
work and there will be great profit financially at the successful conclusion of
the transaction between our client, you and the supplier of this raw material
as I would not want the supplier to meet directly with our client (Wrist watch
and Jewelleries manufacturing Company) as I have been cheated of my percentage
in the past by others.

Meanwhile,
a representative of our client is making adequate arrangement to visit your
Country for the purchase of this raw material within the next one or two weeks,
so, we would appreciate to hear from you if you will be willing and available
to act as a go-between the supplier in your Country and our client, as I would
give you the direct contact of the supplier in your Country.

Thanks
as we expect immediate reply from you.
