"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Sir,

I’m Dr. Tim Gillson an engineer with British Firm here in Aberdeen Scotland UK as the chief field engineer. I decided to contact you to solicit your assistance and guidance in making a business investment, perhaps on how to invest my money in any lucrative project in your country. I also need to know from you about some investment opportunities in your country that will be profitable and the method of establishment.
I make a lot of money in an offshore job that can take me to any level of establishment, but I don't have much time for myself. I need your partnership, that's why am considering investing the money I made, and yet to resign my appointment as soon I’m able to establish a good partnership with you, then deem it right to quit the field job. Am hoping that you’ll help.

Please take a moment of your very busy schedule today to reply this mail.

I’m waiting for your urgent reply.

Best Regards,

Dr. Tim Gillson
