"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Read more about such scams here or in our 419 FAQ. Use the Scam-O-Matic to verify suspect emails.

Subject: GOOD DAY

Dear Friend
My warm greetings to you. Do take this email as real and a contribution to
humanity development. This is not an easy task due to my health condition and
that is the main reason why I contacted you after viewing your profile from the
international directory.Actually not that you are the best person from intellectual
grading but I was driven to contact you from the innermost being. And that was
my main reason for getting to you. Please do not be offended and I will
understand completely if you cannot be of assistance to me.
My name is Mrs.Lilian Dela Cruz; I am a dying woman who has decided to
donate what I have to you for humanity services. I am 46 years old and I was
diagnosed for cancer about 2 years ago immediately after the death of my Husband
whom the doctors told me was poisoned, after visiting some of his relatives,
while I was away on a visit.
I decided to WILL/donate the sum of $3,500 000 (Three million, five hundred
thousand dollars) to you for the good work of humanity and also to help the
motherless and less privilege and also for the assistance of the widows, while
you keep %30 of it for yourself to reward yourself and see that the instructions
are carried out.It does not matter if you are a christian or Muslim, all that
is important is doing the right thing to help humanity.I wish you all the best
because these funds is best in the hands of a total stranger than to allow it
get to get to the hands of my relatives or inlaws, who have both conspired to be
a bunch of racists, drunks, whoremongers Murderers and drug peddlers believe me
I have never seen a bunch of awarful people as bad as this lot, funny enough it
runs in all their blood and is not restricted to just one person, but both
male and female. To this effect kindly contact this Lawyer on the details below.

On your reply to my mail,I will give you a detailed history of the funds, and
how it can be released to you as the new beneficiary of the funds, I know this
might sound very funny, and could pass for yet another internet, joke or scam,
believe me it is not, this is the way that I could actually avenge the death of
my late husband whom my inlaws and relatives saw as a stumblying block or
hinderance in them coming close to me in order to brainwash me to connive to get
hold of the funds, because they knew fully well that I had no children of my own
and they also knew fully well that I knew their intentions, but they had my innocent
husband fooled by coming close to him while I was away.
The only way to make them feel bad is to see what they have killed for, go in to the
hands of a total stranger.
NB: I will appreciate your utmost confidentiality in this matter until the task
is accomplished as I don't want anything that will jeopardize my wishes.
>From Mrs. Lilian Dela Cruz
