"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Sir,

I wish to solicit your assistance to move some funds to another country for the purpose of protecting it. Before that let me apologize for contacting you in such an unsolicited manner. The situation is quite desperate and has driven me to contact you, a total stranger that I do not know. I and my company (a now bankrupt shipping line) are being investigated by the Government of Ghana for tax evasion.

As vindictive and unfair as that is, it has placed me in a situation where I have no choice than to hide most of my asset as they will be forfeit if the Government lays hands on it. To clarify the point, I do not owe the Government of Ghana any taxes and this position is supported by my accountants. However, the investigation alone will take years and in the meantime, my assets, including bank accounts are frozen.
This is why I want to quickly move this portion that they have not discovered. The amount is quite substantial and will give me a new start in another part of the world. I am willing to give you a reasonable percentage of the sum total for your assistance. I would also rely on you for advice on where and what to invest in. Kindly get back to me using my alternate email address: PHILIP-MORGAN@gmx.com so I can give you further details. With very kind regards,

PHILIP MORGAN
