"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,
I got your contact through the chamber of commerce and industry and decided to contact you through this medium.  I am Prince Maxwell A Kwame, a spokesman/representative of a Royal Family in Akwatia, a Gold/Diamond producing Community in the Eastern Region of Ghana, which is the largest gold producing country in West Africa.

I am writing to ascertain your interest and capability of buying or marketing Alluvial Gold Dust, which we presently have, in exchange for Good Water System Development in our community and mining equipment.

We have been in the gold mining business for the past years.  We have a quantity of 250kgs of Alluvial Gold Dust of 23+ Carats purity and 100 kgs of local Gold Bars, selling at a very reasonable price ($31,500 per Kilo, while the world Market is at US$45,000 per kilo).  We need a direct buyer abroad who can buy the commodity and possibly go into partnership agreement with us by exchange of Good Borehole Water supply to our communities, as to front us and also acquire the necessary modern mining equipments to improve our mining capacity and skills that will take us to the next level.

Brief About Akwatia (my town)

Akwatia is a small town located in the Kwaebibirem District, Ghana (Eastern Region). Diamonds were first discovered along the Birim River, in an area nineteen miles northwest of Akwatia, in 1919. Over 100 million carats of diamonds have been recovered from the area by the government before gold was later discovered. My town is a place where lucky farmers sometimes finds nugget gold and diamonds in the ground during farming, mostly after major rain falls.

The land of my entire community according to geological analysis has large deposit of gold/diamond and it is the only part of Ghana where you get 23+-karat purity of gold, others are below.  Our advantage is that, my family rules over majority of the land, therefore we don't operate on just one site.

Advice: It is imperative that our partner must visit Ghana, so we are ready to receive you here, granting you the opportunity to take a tour on our mining site for your physical examination and assessment of the potentials of our lands.  Seeing is believing!

I am capable of arranging your visas directly from here without your physical presence in the Ghana embassy out there.  Driver and a delegate will receive you at the Kotoka International Airport, Accra, and check you into a befitting hotel around the safest neighborhood within the airport area, where we shall have our first meeting before proceeding to the village (mining site) the next day.

Yours truly,
Prince Maxwell A Kwame
