"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Friend,
Peace of God be with you,
With the greatest of respect, Sir, I am sorry to disturb you with my
problem after reviewing your profile. I decided to contact you because of
my present situation. My name is Francis Abotsi, My late father during his
life time was a Tobacco farmer/Gold miner, he is also a leading member of
Political party in my country Mali. My late father was murdered during a
Political crisis recently between goverment and Mali Rebels.
My late father married three wives, and after the death of my father there
was internal fighting in our family as a result of sharing my late fathers
wealth/properties,my mother in her wisdom advised me to search for a
reliable person abroad who can help us invest our own share of my late
father's money/property,that was exactly what I am doing before my mother
was assassinated by unknown gun men according to police report.
Due to my mothers surprising death, I relocate to my uncle house for
parental guidance and protection. The funeral of my parents was at hand and
my uncle requested that I should give him some of my late fathers
documents. I refused and he collaborated with his wife and turn against me.
In course of searching for my late father's properties, my uncle's wife
served me a poisonous meal. But by the grace of God, I was weak that day
and have some symptoms of malaria and lost of appetite that I could not eat
the food. I waited and take the food to the house dog, to my greatest
surprise, the following morning the dog died. I was shocked and after an
hour the wife of my uncle came to me and ask me if I ate the food last
night and I responded yes of course.
from there I discovered my self and was having no option than to leave to
save my life. I run out from the house and move to my course mate with the
parent to save me life. I came to you to know if you will help me receive
some amount of money and gold my late father left in one of the security
finance company in Ghana. If its interest you to help me out, I will give
you more details and getting the money and the gold has no risk involved.
What I need is your names and address, your contact telephone numbers so I
will inform the security finance company to do all the claiming documents
on your name so the money and the gold will be released to you over there
while I come over to continue my education under your watch and guidance as
i invest the money in a lucrative business you will advise me into there in
your country. The Total money involve is €4.5Million Euros plus 300kg of
gold. I have make up my mind to reward you handsomely with 15% of the total
money when you assist me. All the documents covering the money/gold are in
safe hand. I will make them available to you upon demand.I am waiting to
hear from you as soon as possible so that I will know what to do next.
Sincerely,
Francis Abotsi.
