"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: My name is Minh Phieu Dung

Good day.

My name is Minh Phieu Dung and a Vietnamese by nationality. I lived in Pyongyang in the North Korea, working as a chef for the Kim family in the Kyongbokgoong Palace for about 34 years of my life.

The North Korean leader Kim Jong-il died at the age of 69 in December 2011, and named his son Kim Jong-un as successor. The Politburo of the Workers' Party of Korea formally appointed him as the Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army.

There is more trouble in the royal family than words can describe or known to the people outside the family unit. I fortunately happened to be trusted and loved by a close member of the royal family whose identity I will reveal to you in due course. This royalty has a very large sum of money outside the territory of the North Korea and wants a reliable appointee who must not be from North Korea, and who is a person with honour and integrity in whose care and expertise the money will be placed solely for investments purposes. I will reveal the amount and also inform you of our working terms when I receive your positive response. More details will be provided to you upon your response.

Educate me of what kind of things we can do together in your country and we shall sponsor such things if we deem it mutually beneficial to us.

We wait your response.

Yours faithfully,

Minh Phieu Dung.
