"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: COOPERATION FOR ACHIEVEMENT.

I'm Joshua Povi, A lawyer by profession, from Republic of Togo.

It might interest you to know that I have a client who came from your Country,
Mr B.A arrived in Togo in 1978 and was working with Oil & Gas
Company Lome Togo In 2005, before his death, I helped make a fixed deposit of
$15.3 million US Dollars payment to the financial institution here in my
Country.

The bank has notified me to provide the family. I am contacting for two
reasons. First, My late client is from your Country, which make the claim more
credible. Secondly, I strongly believe that the financial firm does not deserve
to inherit the funds. With your permission, I would love to present you to the
bank as the Family/beneficiary to my late client, so that the Money Can be
Transfer to your Bank Account.
