"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Diplomat

Due to the mixup you had with being paid your Lottery Funds by Joan, I took it upon myself to get you your money in the safest way possible.

I went to the National Lottery and I was given the cash by my manager and he also insisted that i use a diplomat to get the cash to your location. The United Kingdom would not allow such amount to leave its country at this point due to the economic situation so they would take back most of the money if i used any other method to get the money to you. I proceeded and packaged the money in a box.
I got a diplomat and he agreed to take the box to you. I did not tell him the contents of the box lest he runs away with it and neither must you tell him. HE MUST NOT KNOW THE CONTENTS OF THE BOX. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. Since he is a diplomat, the box will not be searched. No one must know that the box contains money. Its a total of $3,306,515. (Three Million, three hundred and six thousand, five hundred and fifteen United States Dollars only).
