"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Attention:

Dear Friend

It is with trust and confidence that I write this important and urgent
business proposal to you. But do apologize if the contents hereunder are
contrary to your moral ethics. However, as a courtesy, treat it absolutely
confidential. I am Mr. Dave Blake, personal account officer to a dual
national of South Africa and Australia and a possible member of your
family since he shared the same family name with you.

Bryan, whose last name is the same as yours worked as his company Director
in Accra, Ghana herein referred to as my client. On the 13th February 2009
died alongside his wife and two daughters in a car accident along Kumasi
Road, Ghana. I have checked his records since the incident and made
several enquiries to his embassies here to locate any of his extended
relatives and found no Next of Kin/Beneficiary hence, my contacting you. I
have reasoned very professionally and I am convinced it will be legally
suitable to present you as the Next of Kin or relation to the deceased so
that you can be paid the fund/Estate left behind by him in a Finance
company where I work at the moment.

I, therefore seek for your cooperation, assistance and understanding to
present you as the Next of Kin to the deceased since you are at an
advantage sharing the same surname and equally from the same ethnic
origin. The money will be released to you for safe-keeping and subsequent
disbursement among ourselves since the Finance Company has issued me a
notice to provide the Next of Kin or they will return the money valued at
$13,000,000.00 (Thirteen Million US Dollars) only to the treasury as
unclaimed deposit and the account declared as dormant. I will provide the
account information in due course for your own verification if you so
desired.

I am requesting you to cooperate with me and provide a suitable account in
a designated bank of your choice where this fund can safely be transferred
or you can equally set up a new account for this transaction. I intend to
come over to your country on completion of the transaction to secure my
own share. Please note that I have been careful and have worked out all
the modalities for a smooth transfer of this fund to any account you
nominated before contacting you. I therefore would not want you to devulge
this business proposal to anybody for the purpose of security and its
confidential nature.

Please be assured that this transaction is 100% risk-free as all the
documents will be legally processed and registered with the relevant
authorities to reflect in their data base. If this proposal is acceptable
to you, then get back to me immediately through my direct telephone number
+44 7775607067 or personal email daveblake_allsecfin@mail.com. I will
give you more information on how we are going to proceed and file
application on the claims when I get your positive response.

Yours faithfully,
Dave Blake
