"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Hello Dear,

My name is Brig. Gen. Laura J. Richardson,
, a U.S Citizen of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and currently
serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Afghanistan. I
assisted some opposition leaders in Afghanistan to negotiate for an oil
business worth of $30,000.000.00 (Thirty Million US Dollars). After the
deal I was given the sum of $4,000,000.00 (Four Million US Dollars) as my
share of the deal.

I quickly moved my share of the deal to a safe Security Company with the
help of a United Nations Diplomatic Officer attached to my camp here in
Afghanistan. I would like to entrust this amount into your care for the
purpose of investing it in any profitable business, while I gradually
disengage myself from the National Service to join you in the business. I
am convinced that you will give this mutual deal the attention and
confidentiality it deserves.

I shall furnish you with other necessary information needed to make this
our mutual deal a success. All I need from you is to indicate your interest
and readiness to partner with me in this mutual deal, by receiving the
funds in your position on my behalf.

If you are ready to partner with me in this mutual deal, I will offer you
30% for receiving the funds in your position on my behalf, while 70% will
be mine. for the investment.
Hope to hear from you soon.

My Most Kind Regards,
Brig. Gen. Laura J. Richardson
