"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE: About the fund

Okay! Sorry for my earlier discretion in this process. We have not met
face to face, which I think justifies any form of skepticism. I am now
providing you with the account information of my late client (Mohammad
Asraf).

Account Name: Mohammad Asraf
Account Number: 1016203834
Account Balance: US$ 6,000,000.00
Date of Deposit: 12th December, 2009
Account officer: Ms Anita Morgan

I was at the bank yesterday to inform the branch manager that the next
of kin is ready to move the fund. After my meeting with him, I got 90%
assurance that we could move the fund without any risk. The relevant
original documents for the fund are with me. I am hopeful we can get
this done and I could retire with some rewards.
Please forward the information to the account officer. Whatever
response you get, let me know. I have also provided for you the site
to confirm Asraf’s death. He and his wife’s name is numbers 28 and 29.
