"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FROM FATOU BAKOTOU TOURAY

Dear friend,

Kindly accept my apology for intruding into your privacy. Although we never met before, I have every reason to believe that you are a highly respected personality, considering the fact that I sourced your profile from a human resource profile database on your country.

My names are FATOU BAKOTOU TOURAY, I am the only surviving child of my parent my both parent are dead (LATE). My father ALHAJI SAHEED FATAI TOURAY (Now Late) was the Royal Head in our community, (in a Diamond and Gold Mining rich town) in our community. My community produces 5.8% of the total Diamond and Gold Production in my country and 0.5% of the Dollar value of each Diamond & Gold is paid to my father as royalty by the Government.

My father left some money for me in the bank before he died. If you may ask why do I need a foreign assistance or why can't I take the cash myself and transfer? The answer is that there was an exclusion clause in the original agreement between the bank and my father which states unambiguously that 'nobody, not even himself, can have access to the money, and it has to be transferred to a foreign beneficiary outside my country'. This was done because he envisaged his rest and this clause were inserted to prevent any seizure or infiltration of the fund.

My decision to contact you is therefore, informed by this. I believe you will appreciate the enormity of trust I repose on you by placing the fortunes of my family in your care.

Permit me to request that you should reassure me that you will not let me down in any way. On my part, this is my assurance and guarantee to you. In as much as you follow my instructions carefully, religiously and promptly my guarantee of a hitch-free success remains unshakable.

The amount involved is Five Million Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars ($5.5m), which my father made from Diamond and Gold Mining Business while he was still alive. I promise to give you 40% of the total funds transferred to your vital bank account as compensation for your assistance. 5% would be set aside to take care of all miscellaneous expenses which may incur during the transaction; immediately the fund has been successfully transfer into your account I will come to your country for the sharing of the fund.

I will give you 40% of the total sum, while 5% will be used for miscellaneous expenses that may occur, if there will be any. Please indicate your interest in this transaction by replying back and if you are not interested do not waste your time to reply kindly delete my message from your inbox ok.

My proposal is highly restricted and should be handled as an urgent transaction requiring trust and confidentiality.

Please contact me through my private email address and website: fatoubakotou@terra.com.pe

Thank you.
Sincerely,
FATOU BAKOTOU TOURAY.
