"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: I await response

Dear prospective partner,
How are you? I hope you are fine. My name is Patrick Chigoziem. I am the Purchasing Manager of GSK Pharmaceutical Company in Lagos-Nigeria. I got your esteemed contact information from a trusted portal. I have a business proposition that will be of mutual benefit to you and me. I would like you to supply Lamivudine medicinal herbs to our company. Our company uses this medicinal herbs for the production of HIV antiviral drugs and its very scarce and rare to find.

Recently, through an error made by a courier company, I was privileged to know where these herbs are sold and their prices. These herbs are actually sold at the price of $820 per sachet of 20 grams. But our regular supplier sell them to our company at the price of $1,550 per sachet of 20 grams. This shows that they make a profit of $730 on each sachet of 20 grams and our company orders a minimum of 1000 sachets and a maximum of 3,000 sachets every three months; and the good thing about it is that once the lab test passes OK on the supply's sample, an agreement will be signed between the supplier and our company and full payment for every supply to be made is paid to the supplier up-front by our company.

So, what I want you to do now is to take up this supply contract and it doesn't need any formal experience, and it does not matter whether it is your line of business or not. Because I will be on ground to facilitate the business by telling you what to do at every point in time. In your own case, you will buy the herbs at the cost of $820 per sachet and supply to our company at the cost of $1,450 per sachet so you can beat the price of our regular supplier and still make a profit of $630 on each sachet. Our company needs 1,000 sachets urgently and I shall give you all the necessary assistance and information you need including the contact details of the farmer where you can buy the samples when your application is accepted. Because I am your secret partner as well as the Purchasing Manager, I will make sure that your samples are certified OK during the lab test so the supply contract will be granted to you.

All I want from the business is 30% of the profit while you take 70% as the supplier.

If you are interested reply back urgently, because our company need these herbs now. If you are not interested, please delete this mail immediately.

Yours sincerely,
Patrick Chigoziem
