"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From Ian Todd-Weller William

Dear Sir

My name is Ian Todd-Weller William and I have sent two letters to you in the past and I am yet to receive any response from you which is why I have decided to send you this email regarding the estate of my late partner.

My late partner Mr.Roberts and I had a joint business venture for which we both contributed funds for it's actualization before he died. The funds were deposited in his name pending the conclusion of necessary formalities for the effective commencement of our proposed business venture. His untimely death has made it impossible to assess the funds.

I have been duly informed by his lawyer that your name was mentioned in his Will as his beneficiary, and efforts had previously been made to contact you, all to no avail. There is urgent need to to present you as his beneficiary to facilitate the release of his estate.

Further details will be provided to you upon your response.

Thank you for your time.

Ian Todd-Weller William
