"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am Dr. Godwill Emefiele the new Executive Governor Central Bank of
Nigeria (CBN). This is to officially inform you that we have written
to you before without getting respond from you and we believe that our
previous mail did not get to you therefore we write you again.

On the contrary, I came across your file on assumption of office and
found out that the past administration were not able to release your
fund worth $10.5M as indicated on your payment file even after you the
directive was given by the FBI.

I am poised to offset every external debt owned by my country in
terms of INHERITACE PAYMENT, CONTRACT PAYMENT, COMPENSATION PAYMENT,
DONATION PAYMENT, LOTTERY PAYMENT,ROMANCE PAYMENT etc. your file has
been selected as the first people to be paid in this debt
reconciliation settlement scheme.

As a matter of fact, you are to reconfirm your whole information so
that we can update your data on our system.

I would like to know if you would want to be paid through Bank-To-Bank
wire transfer or do you want to be issued with an Automated Teller
Machine Card (ATM) or would you like to come down to Nigeria for the
collection.
