"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Greetings from Mrs. Coleen B. Karl

Greetings to you Dear,

I am Mrs. Coleen B. Karl, a widow suffering from long time illness ( esophageal cancer ), I have some funds I inherited from my late husband Engr. Graeme Karl, (USD$4.500.000) and I need a good person like you that will use the funds to carry out Charity Projects on my behalf. For your goodwill and alliance you will have 15% of the funds for your compensation.

I took this decision because I don't have any child to inherit this fund, again I and my late husband were brought up in Orphanages, before Fate coincidentally brought us together.

While he was alive, we have both vowed to use our wealth to help the less privileged since we have no child and relations. If you accept to use this fund to help the Less Privileged and support Charity Organizations both in your country and elsewhere, kindly respond for more details before it is too late. Write down your names, age, occupation, residential address and direct telephone contact.

Thanks and God bless you as you accept to carry out this noble task of Charity,

Mrs. Coleen
