"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: DId you get my previous email?

Hello dear,
How are you? My name is Annabel and I am 61 years old, I write you with pains and from a treatment center as I don't have much time to live. I need to tell you something important because I prefer a total stranger to be a beneficiary of what my late husband who owned several mining sites deposited in a security company than his other wife who has tried to claim all due to my ill health, the truth is I have no financial power to follow up and claim it for 2 years now and I don't have much time left as I have been battling my health and exhausted what I had, I can only give you details and inform the company that you are going to be the receiver. I have no one to turn to, when I get a reply from you I would tell you the amount involved and how you would split it. I know this is strange but this is the only option I have now, need to fulfill my husbands dying wish as well, that is why I make sure the other wife doesn't get a dime from the deposit.
I am waiting to receive your reply urgently.
Ann
