"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Contract Award Committee.

Dr. Edward Ojo
NNPC Towers Ikoyi
Lagos - Nigeria

Greetings,,

I am the Chairman of the Contract Award Committee, Federal Ministry Petroleum Resources, Nigeria. We are in search for an agent to assist us in the transfer of (US$100 M) ONE HUNDRED MILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS. And subsequent investment in properties in your country. You will be required to.

(1) Assist in the transfer of the said sum
(2) Advise on lucrative areas for investment
(3) Assist us in purchase of properties.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Information you may need to know about the said contract awarded by NNPC. The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) began construction on a power station that will supply 500 MW to the national grid and ensure the effective utilization of Nigeria's gas resources.

The 500MW power plant is part of a domestic gas synergy project which also includes onshore flare elimination and a domestic gas pipeline to deliver gas to the national grid. The total amount for this contract project was $400.000.000.00 USD. But it was over invoiced to the tune of $500.M USD. Making us to benefit the sum of $100.M USD. The contract was awarded to the Oceaneering International Ltd on 18th August 2010. And completed September 13 2014. The contract award certificate and job completion certificate will be sent to you in my next mail for your perusal.

I am soliciting on you because the fund $100M cannot be transferred into a local account but into a foreign account because as civil servant(s) we are not allowed to operate a foreign account. Feel free to ask any question or you can as well forward your question to me by email.

If you decide to render your service to us in this regard, 40% of the total sum will be offered to you for effort. Please, quickly get reply me if you are willing to assist.

Respectfully,

Dr. Edward Ojo
Chairman Contract Award Committee {CCAC}
