"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Some comments by the Scam-O-Matic about the following email:

This email uses a separate reply address that is different from the sender address. Spammers use this to get replies even when the original spam sending accounts have been shut down. Also, sometimes the sender addresses are legitimate looking but fake and only the reply address is actually an email account controlled by the scammers.

Subject: HELLO

My name is Thompson Military Officer, I'm from united states of American, but am in Afghanistan now for peace keeping with United Nations, But now I'm in the hospital I was attack by rebels when we are coming back from mission, Please can I trust you? I have consignment with United Nations Agent which i want you to help me receive the consignment on my behalf.

GOD wish to use that medium and bless us for our sacrifice, dedication to serve and protect lives of innocent citizens from rebel attacks.
During our raid in the rebel strong hold,.we also discovered 250 million US dollars packed in containers and lots of ammunition were recovered from the operationAll our patrol team agreed with our ,commander to share the loot among ourselves. I get total sum of 10 million US Dollars, . Our commander has made arrangement with red cross delivery organization, he has packed his own share and ship it to his family through delivery . Our commander advised us never to bring in any of the funds into our camp to avoid other officers knowing, many of my comrades has shipped their own share of loot to their family and mine is still with diplomat,which i want you to help me to receive it on my behalf.
