"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello

Hello

I am Mr James Okoh, a lawyer from Nigeria, I have a client name Andrew
Mogensen a foreigner who made a fixed deposit with a bank, FIRST BANK OF
NIGERIA and it was the sum of $25,000,000.00 (Twenty Five million US
Dollars) Deposited in the Bank here in Nigeria in 2010 and the due date
for claims was 2015, unfortunately my client is late and he did not
mention his next of kin to me before his death. The bank is yet to know
that he is dead, if they know he is dead and has no next of kin, they
will give his funds to the government and i don't want that to happen. I
am seeking your co-operation to present you to the bank head office as
the next of kin to my late client; so that they can approve the funds to
you and we can both share it. This deal its 100% risk free. The bank is
relying on me to present his next of kin simply because i am his lawyer.
Please kindly respond Asap if you are interested with my proposal

Regards
Mr. James Okoh.
